Analysis of a magazine cover
This is the magazine advert for Madonna's album 'Celebration'. The advert links into the CD cover as it is basically the same image and text style as the CD cover. This will make the audience notice it better as they will be able to tell straight away what it is. This is also quite conventional as lots of artists link their albums, promos, and adverts to a certain theme throughout the production, marketing and exhibition/distribution so that the fans can link these things together.
The text is clear to read but also links in with the style of the advert. This is conventional as the text needs to be easy to read so that people will read it as they walk past and if the text links in with the theme of the advert then people will be more likely to take notice of the advert than if the advert is boring and the text doesn't link in.
The advert has an arty theme as Madonna looks like she has been painted on the wall rather than a photograph and the text also links in with the arts theme as it looks like it has been sprayed painted on the wall. This makes the advert stand out as it is pretty unique and very rememberable. This makes the advert more effective as more people will stop to look at it and take the time to read the information at the bottom. This could lead to people going on the website and doing what the advert wants people to do.
